I used to be afraid of everything.
When I was diagnosed as legally blind I learned something. Fear was a big part of why I could not see.
I tried for years to get rid of fear. Then I realized something.
I only feel afraid when... I think about something I don't want. Like when I see that thing before it happens.
I feel emotions I don't like.
My energy level drops.
My body gets sick.
It's my body's way of letting me know it's not true.
Now when I feel fearful I change my thoughts.
I focus more on what is happening right now.
I appreciate the things I see. Things I already have that I love.
I breathe.
It's nice to know I don't have to experience fear.
I get to choose.
